SEM brand lands in Mexico
SEM™ by PPG brand expands into the automotive repair industry in Mexico.
“In Mexico, more than 45,000 automotive painters work under pressure to deliver high-quality finishes – performance at the body shop level is critical to profitability and customer satisfaction,” said Alejandra Gallego, PPG director, allied products, automotive refinish. “Therefore, every phase of the process becomes especially relevant. Surface preparation can represent up to 60% of a refinish job, making it a critical step. The SEM brand offers a comprehensive portfolio now available in Mexico, designed to support professionals throughout the refinishing process. It includes high- and mid-performance abrasives for fast, consistent sanding; detailing solutions for superior correction and finishing; high-performance masking tapes for precise application; and an innovative custom aerosol system for quick, clean touch-ups in the workshop.

SEM products will be available during the first half of 2026 at points of sale through PPG-authorized distributors, as well as in Comex® stores in cities including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, León and Tijuana.
