Big Win for Harvick at Kobalt 400
SEM is celebrating Kevin Harvick’s big win at the Kobalt 400 on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Harvick led a total of 142 laps to clench the win by 1.64 seconds ahead of Martin Truex Jr. We’re not surprised to see the 2014 Sprint Cup Champion back on top of the leaderboard. It was his 29th career Sprint Cup victory, his first at Las Vegas and his third in the last six races dating back to Texas Motor Speedway in November. This was Harvick’s sixth straight finish of second or better. The last driver to have six consecutive top-two finishes was Jeff Gordon in 1996.
It was the 26th point-paying Sprint Cup win for Stewart-Haas Racing since its inception in 2009 and the organization’s first this season.
Overall, it was a great racing weekend for SEM’s drivers. #47 AJ Allmendinger finished 6th and #41 Regan Smith finished 16th to round out the top 20 of the Kobalt 400.
We also saw great accomplishments in the XFinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 with three drivers in the top 5 and four more in the top 20.
Congratulations to all the SEM teams and drivers! We’ll be cheering you on next week in Phoenix.
