News and Notes
Tricky Triangle…The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) heads to Pocono Raceway this weekend. It’s the first of two stops at the track affectionately known as the ‘Tricky Triangle.’ Allgaier has an average finish of 21.5 at the 2.5-mile track in the NSCS, and has led six laps. Allgaier has one win at Pocono in the ARCA Racing Series in 2008.
Hot Rod Black…The No. 51 Chevy’s primary sponsor this weekend at Pocono is SEM Products. Allgaier’s car is painted with SEM Products’ Hot Rod Black for this weekend. Hot Rod Black is the industry leading matte, two-component, single stage black for low gloss accent stripes, hoods or entire vehicles. Learn more information about Hot Rod Black by visiting www.semproducts.com/refinish-custom-finishes/hot-rod-black-kit.
Justin last ran a SEM paint scheme last year at the Bristol Motor Speedway spring race and drove it to a 17th-place position.
Dover Race Recap…Allgaier qualified the No. 51 AccuDoc Solution/Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet in the 24th position last Friday at Dover. Just before the halfway point in the 400-lap race, Allgaier was part of a three-car accident that sent him to the garage for repairs. After returning to the track, Allgaier finished the race 42nd in the No. 51 AccuDoc Solutions/Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet.
Justin Allgaier on Pocono Raceway:
“Pocono [Raceway] is one of my favorite tracks that we go to on the schedule. Each turn is unique at the track and the speeds we reach are incredible. Every time we go there, the bumps become more prevalent and the surface roughens up. I have great memories of being in Victory Lane there and it would certainly be nice to visit it again. We have SEM Products on the car this weekend. They’re a great group of people, and I enjoy visiting them at their headquarters each year. I know they will all be cheering us on in Pocono.”
Crew Chief Steve Addington on Pocono Raceway:
“Pocono [Raceway] is tough because the corners are so different. When you get the car handling well in one corner, it’s double as hard to get it handling well in the other corners. Rain is expected in the forecast for this weekend, so we’ll have to adjust our practice and qualifying plans accordingly. Justin really likes Pocono and I know he’s excited to get back there. This weekend is a good opportunity to shake off the bad luck we’ve had the past couple of weeks and to get a good finish for SEM Products and everyone at HScott Motorsports.”
